The original church was built in 1861-1862 of wood. It was razed in June of 1902 to make way for the new Bedford Stone and brick building on Waterman St., Sycamore, Illinois The building was built in the shape of a cross, 40 feet wide at the front, 70 feet wide at the back, and 105 feet deep
